New Executive Board for 2021
2020 was quite the year of adjustment for CreArt, necessitating changes in how we engaged the community in the arts. Specifically, CreArt transitioned programming to virtual platforms. Despite ongoing challenges, we kept being creative, and persevered in our commitment to deliver accessible arts education. Going into 2021, we will continue virtual programming, as we look forward to offering more in-person programming again in the future.
Two years ago, CreArt officially became a non-profit organization, CreArt Edmonton Society. This followed seven years of consistent grassroots arts and community development work. Now in the nineth year of serving our community, we expanded our executive board at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 25th 2020. We would like to take the opportunity to introduce the newly elected members of the CreArt Executive Board:
President: Chris Ford Vice President: Rebecca Kaiser Treasurer: David Prodan Secretary: Loraine Anasta Board Members at large:
Chantel Bender Dalyce McElhinney David Prodan Derek Dallorto Dylan Pitman Gautam Karnik George Zhang Isaac Friesen Izabela Bienko Len Cardinal Monique Holowach Rylan Kafara
The Executive Board is happy to announce that CreArt founder Sebastian Barrera continues on as CreArt’s Executive Director in 2021.
As one of our first orders of business, we organized ourselves into 4 sub-committees to support CreArt’s continued growth: Communications, Fundraising, Bylaws & Membership. Each of our board members sits on one or two committees, contributing their experience and collaborating in an effort to not only maintain our capacity, but expand our membership, fund new and exciting projects, and support more local artists and students delivering a wider variety of opportunities in arts education and programming.
Through the expanded capacities of the new Board, we intend to broaden our scope and further our reach into the community, moving forward into an inspiring 2021.
Welcome a ‘board’!
