The KinnArt Ravine Mural Project is a public art gallery in the Kinnaird Ravine, accessible from Sheriff Robertson Park. This outdoor community art installation was developed in 2015 and eventually renewed in 2018 and again in 2021, we are working towards an annual project. The main principle behind this initiative is that “it is not public art, it is art made by the public”. We mentor community participants, practice muralism, design, prepare and paint 62 murals covering 1,900 sqft of community art space installed along retaining walls in the Kinnaird Ravine, with wall murals created by local families, professional artists, and non-profit groups in community drop-in and workshop settings. This year we will work to produce 20 new pieces to replace artwork damaged by the weather and vandalism at the Kinnaird Ravine.
We invite you to sign up for this project with your family, friends, and community members. Remember you don't need to be a professional painter to be part of this project we welcome everyone to share and have fun every Saturday and Sunday Morning from 10 am until 1 pm. Starting on June 18 until the first week of September. Please sign up for the form below to be part of the project.
Who to prepare for the project?
